{"id":1448,"date":"2025-03-07T21:51:39","date_gmt":"2025-03-08T02:51:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kakahead.com\/?p=1448"},"modified":"2025-03-07T21:51:39","modified_gmt":"2025-03-08T02:51:39","slug":"fooglys-fribbly-travels","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/kakahead.com\/?p=1448","title":{"rendered":"Foogly&#8217;s Fribbly Travels"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>When grandsons came to visit, they got to choose what I wrote for \u201cHappy Friday!!!\u201d When I asked what the title for one week&#8217;s story should be, Ollie quickly said, \u201cFribbly&#8217;s Travels.\u201d Then his younger brother Gabe mentioned, \u201cYou always get to choose!!\u201d \u201cWell Gabe,\u201d I asked, \u201cwhat would <em><strong>you <\/strong><\/em>like me to write about?\u201d \u201c<strong>Foogly&#8217;s <\/strong>travels!\u201d he answered quickly. \u201cHmmm,\u201d I replied. \u201cHow about Foogly&#8217;s Fribbly Travels??\u201d They both chuckled their approval. So without further ado, here is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Foogly&#8217;s\nFribbly Travels<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Late\none morning, just before sunset during a thunderstorm which suddenly\nerupted into a very cold snow that seemed very crunchy and full of\nworms, Foogly was so bored he started drawing \u201cDream Maps\u201d about\nreally cool amusement parks made of sticks, rocks, crayons, and a\nsentence that was way too long.  Foobly called them \u201cDream Maps\u201d\nbecause these were places he had always dreamed of visiting, but for\nsome strange reason they did <em><strong>not <\/strong><\/em>sell\nhis favorite food:  tomato ice cream soup with grilled coyote\ntoenails.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Foogly&#8217;s\nfriend Cheeba was watching intently as these maps were drawn with\nsome of the most beautiful colors.  After the 17<sup>th<\/sup>\nmap was made, Cheeba decided to offer her opinion about some really\ncool places to see.  \u201cFoogly, I really like your cool maps!\u201d\nCheeba declared.  \u201cBut hey, I have some really fribbly places you\nmight like to visit also!!\u201d she continued.    \u201cFribbly??\u201d\nwondered Foogly.  \u201cWhat does &#8216;fribbly&#8217; mean??\u201d  \u201cIt&#8217;s a\ncombination of \u201cwow\u201d and \u201choly moly!!\u201d Cheeba replied. \n\u201cOh&#8230; well not sure how you got that, but OK, if you say so,\u201d\nFoogly said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cheeba\noffered to make her own maps, but with a twist.  \u201cFoogly, may I\nplease borrow your cell phone?\u201d  she asked.  Foogly answered, \u201cI\ndon&#8217;t have one, but here&#8217;s my Dad&#8217;s&#8230; he won&#8217;t mind&#8230; I don&#8217;t\nthink.\u201d   \u201cOK cool,\u201d Cheeba said, and continued,  \u201cnext I\nneed a pot of water.\u201d  Foobly filled a 2 quart pot with some water.\n \u201cNext,\u201d Cheeba went on, \u201cwe&#8217;ll need 2 tablespoons of salt, 1 \u00bd\nteaspoons of cat litter (unused), 14 drops of red food coloring, and\na small candle.\u201d  \u201cWhat do we do with all that??\u201d Foogly asked.\n \u201cJust hand them all to me and I&#8217;ll show you,\u201d Cheeba replied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Foogly\nbrought all the supplies to Cheeba and watched with wonder as she\ndumped them all into the pot of water and stirred everything up with\na wooden spoon.  \u201cOK!\u201d Cheeba said.  \u201cNow hand me those comics\nand a pair of scissors.\u201d  Foogly was a bit confused, but he went\nahead and got the comics and the scissors and gave them to Cheeba. \nShe giggled a little (I think she thought last week&#8217;s Garfield was\npretty funny), then started cutting up the comics into little shreds\nand dumped them in the pot with all the rest of the stuff; and again\nshe began to stir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cheeba\nsmiled and stared into the pot, then she shouted, \u201cOK!! LET&#8217;S TAKE\nTHIS OUTSIDE!!\u201d \u201cHey!!\u201d said Foogly, \u201cI&#8217;m right here!!  You\ndon&#8217;t need to shout!!\u201d   Cheeba apologized and grabbed the pot and\nquickly walked outside with it.   \u201cOK, ready??\u201d she asked Foogly.\n \u201cUm&#8230; I guess!!\u201d Foogly answered.  Suddenly there came a slushy\n!! SPLAT !!  as Cheeba flung the contents of the pot onto the\ndriveway.  \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWow!!\u201d said Foogly, being awestruck by the mess. \u201cHoly Moly!!\u201d exclaimed Cheeba with a big grin. She was pretty happy with all the weird patterns everything made in the driveway. \u201cOK,\u201d she said, \u201cyou still have your Dad&#8217;s cell phone?\u201d \u201cYep,\u201d answered Foogly, and he handed it to her. Cheeba dialed a number and put the phone to her ear. \u201cHi Mom!! Yes, I&#8217;m still at Foogly&#8217;s house. Can you come and pick us up so we can go get some ice cream? Really?? Cool!!! Oh and can we go to that holy moly wow museum afterward? Yes?!?!? That would be really fribbly!! Thank you Mom!!\u201d Cheeba hung up and handed the phone back to Foogly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cLet&#8217;s\ngo back inside and wait for my Mom,\u201d Cheeba said.  \u201cBut what\nabout the mess in the driveway??\u201d Foogly pleaded.  \u201cDon&#8217;t worry,\u201d\nCheeba reassured him.  \u201cAll that stuff will combine and dissolve\nbefore you know it.\u201d  Foogly wasn&#8217;t so sure, but he was very happy\nthat Cheeba&#8217;s Mom came to get them before his Dad got home from work.\n There was still a big mess in the driveway, but Foogly and Cheeba\nhad a very fribbly afternoon.
